Manchester Women’s Aid offers survivors of domestic violence and abuse groupwork support alongside other survivors to better understand, and heal from, their experiences.
Please note that groups do not run during school holidays.
Not all the groupworks are available at the moment, our staff will notify you of times and places.

MOVING ON
Moving On is a programme that explores the different types of abuse, educates on what is a healthy or abusive relationship and helps participants identify possible signs of abuse in future relationships. It also educates on legislation and support designed to keep women and children safe from abuse.

FREEDOM PROGRAMME
The Freedom Programme helps participants explore the beliefs and behaviours of abusive men and aids their understanding of their own experiences of domestic abuse. The Freedom programme also helps women explore how their children will have been affected by being exposed to the abuse. It also concentrates on how lives can be improved once free from abuse.

LIVING LIFE TO THE FULL
This wellbeing and life management course uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques to help participants deal with life’s everyday stresses. It covers how thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all linked, how to manage those thoughts, feelings and behaviours, healthy routines and grounding techniques.
