WE’VE BEEN NOMINATED FOR AN AWARD!
We are so excited to announce that we have been nominated for a Prolific North Creative Award in the category ‘Creative for Good Award - Medium Budget’ for our Crowdfunder film ‘Kate’s Story: Transforming the Lives of Women In Refuge’.
The film was created by Helen Tither, Films Not Words, as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations.
Helen spoke to 5 brave women as part of her research and the film brought their words to life. We wanted to use the milestone of 50 years, to bring attention to the children and young people in our refuge, who we felt are often forgotten in conversations around domestic abuse.
For the Crowdfunder, we aimed to raise £20,000 to help us build a new play area in one of our four family refuges. We were absolutely blown away with the support and managed to raise £22,600 in just ONE WEEK!
